Pastor Corey Brooks, New Beginnings Church Pastor Brooks (Rooftop Pastor), Pastor Brooks has lived in tents since Nov 2021 to draw attention to the need to raise money to replace a motel with a community center in the Woodlawn neighborhood. After raising $20 million, he has enough money to build the center which will "Help Others Obtain Destiny" (HOOD). Congrats, Pastor Corey! Tara Neilsen Ms. Neilsen has been educating the Lake in the Hills community on the drag queen entertainment being held with minors present at a local bakery. Her peaceful advocacy aims to protect children from exploitation, which isn't for the faint of heart. Congrats, Tara! Mr. Jeff Wynn Mr. Wynn felt called to protect children from the National Sex Ed Standards by calling IL school administrators regarding the concerns over the passing of Senate Bill 818. He created an excel sheet and tirelessly worked to update it when schools were deciding to adopt these sex ed standards. the sheet was integral to the Awake IL "opt out" campaign. Thanks to his efforts, more advocates took a stand to defend children. More than half of the 800+ districts opted out but the number may increase if we let down our guard. Jeff is running for Morris Community High School Board of Education. Congrats, Jeff! Sen. Darren Bailey and Mrs. Cindy Bailey Sen. along with his wife Cindy Bailey traversed IL with an inspiring and faithful grassroots campaign for Governor.
